Classbeat

Privacy Policy

Effective November 1, 2026

This policy explains how Classbeat, an app by Incipit Labs LLC ("we" or "us"), handles your information. The short version: we don't collect your data.

Information we collect

We do not collect, store, or have access to any personal information through Classbeat. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking.

Lock Screen timer

While a class is running, Classbeat keeps its timer on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island up to date through Apple's push notification service. To do that, the app sends our server a temporary push code that Apple issues for that one timer, plus the class's step timings: step numbers, left or right side, rest or work, and when each step starts and ends. It never sends class names, step names, notes, or anything that identifies you. Our server uses this only to send the timer updates at the right moments, and deletes it when the class ends, when you stop it, or after 24 hours at most. Apple's handling of push notifications is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Your classes and settings

The classes, exercises, and notes you create are stored on your device. If you're signed in to iCloud, Classbeat can store a copy in your private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit so your classes appear on your other devices. That data belongs to your Apple Account; we cannot view or access it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Sharing classes

You can share a class as a file, as text, or as a classbeat.app link. When you share a link, the class is stored inside the link itself, after the # sign. Browsers never send that part of a link to our website, so we don't receive the contents of shared classes. A shared class goes only to the people and apps you choose to share it with.

Music

Classbeat plays alongside music apps such as Apple Music and Spotify. It does not read your music library or listening history.

Beta testing

If you test Classbeat through Apple's TestFlight, Apple may share with us information such as crash reports, device model and OS version, and any feedback or screenshots you choose to submit. We use this only to fix problems and improve Classbeat. Apple's TestFlight terms describe what Apple collects.

Children

Classbeat is designed for fitness instructors and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update it on this page and revise the effective date above.
